In good news for golf enthusiasts in the national Capital, Lt Governor Vinai Kumar Saxena has asked Delhi Development Auth-ority (DDA) to come up with a special festive season offer at its prestigious Dwarka Golf Course at Sector-24, the longest golf course in the country.
The DDA is offering 40 per cent discount on Tenure Membership Fees across all categories, including Green Fees. However, the discount is only for limited period and is valid only for the first 1000 memberships on a First Come, First Serve basis.
As part of the scheme, Tenure Membership Fee has been reduced by 40 per cent. For the Government employees, the revised charges are now Rs 1,20,000 for three years and Rs 1,80,000 for 5 years. For non-Government members, the revised charges are Rs 3,60,000 for 3 years and Rs 5,40,000 for 5 years.
For the existing members, tenure period will be increased proportionately so that they are also benefitted from the discounted offer.
The 18-hole golf course at Sector 24 Dwarka is spread across 7377 yards and has large greens spread over 158 acres. Besides, it has a driving range of 375 yards with 52 bays, which is also the longest in the country and North Shore SLT grass for fairways (first in India).
The course also houses world-class facilities including a club-house with restaurant, cafeteria, conference and lecture halls, tapas corners, swimming pool, sauna, steam, and other amenities. A Golf Academy, envisioned as a Centre of Excellence, is also being established to nurture talent.
The work has been awarded to an agency last week for running of “Centre of Excellence for Golf” to train and inspire young budding golfers to excel in the said field. This includes operation of Centre of Excellence for golf, management and maintenance of driving range, provisioning of coaching and training, running of equipment fitment studio, modern
simulator/tech studio, fitness center, pro shop and provision of physiotherapy and rehabilitation.
Additionally, environmentally sustainable practices such as a computerized automatic irrigation system, underground drainage, and storm water recharge wells ensure intelligent use and conservation of water.
The Delhi Development Authority is playing a pivotal role in building state-of-the-art sports infrastructure in the national Capital. At present, it operates 18 sports complexes, 4 mini sports complexes, 3 public golf courses, 17 swimming pools, and 40 multi-gyms.
Besides, Centres of Excellence are being developed in various sports across different sectors of Dwarka which would play a vital role in strengthening India’s sports ecosystem and contributing to the nation’s medal tally at global sporting events.
