Intensifying efforts to swiftly complete the construction of the Ram temple, major construction companies like Larsen & Toubro, Tata and government construction corporations have decided to further augment the workforce.

The Ram Temple Construction Committee has set a target to complete the work by December 2024.

The committee’s chairman, Nripendra Mishra, said that as the construction of the temple would be completed by December, the remaining construction tasks were underway following the consecration ceremony followed by the Ram Navami celebrations.

A member of the construction committee said that around 200 artisans had been employed for sculpting the idols on the temple’s pillars, and work on the ground floor.

“This is nearing completion and before December, the Ram Darbar will also be installed in the sanctum sanctorum,” he said.

The construction of the second floor, third floor and the spire is to be speeded up. Approximately 1,200 workers are currently engaged in these tasks, and their number will be increased to 5,000 in near future.

Dr Anil Mishra, a member of the Shri Ram Janmabhoomi Teerth Kshetra Trust, said that L&T and government construction corporations had been directed to increase the workforce.

“The construction of eight more temples within the premises, including those dedicated to various deities like Sheshavatar, Maharishi Vishwamitra, Maharishi Valmiki, Maharishi Agastya, Maharishi Vashishth, Nishad Raj and Goddess Ahilya, is also underway,” he said.

Dr Anil Mishra stated that the entire focus is now on the construction work and how to complete the work by the end of December 2024.
