The Delhi BJP Poorvanchal Morcha organised the birth centenary celebration of Bharat Ratna Karpoori Thakur at Ambedkar International Centre on Sunday in the Presence of many senior BJP leaders and people from the Poorvanchal region in Delhi.
Many senior BJP leaders were present there including Delhi BJP President Virendra Sachdeva, MP Manoj Tiwari and Bihar's Deputy Chief Minister Samrat Chaudhary. Thousands of people from the Poorvanchal region in Delhi attended the event including YouTube influencer Manish Kashyap associated with the BJP Poorvanchal Morcha.
A short video film was screened at the event on the life and achievements of Thakur, emphasizing his significant contributions to Indian politics.
Samrat Chaudhary praised Thakur's legacy, highlighting his role in the fight for the cause of the poor. He credited Thakur with revolutionary politics and implementing progressive measures such as reserving 4% for women despite opposition.
Chaudhary also praised Prime Minister Modi for fulfilling Thakur's dream of seeing a marginalized individual become the Prime Minister. He further said that Bihar has had two chief Ministers who banned alcohol while Delhi has a Chief Minister who indulged in corruption related to alcohol.
Virendra Sachdeva underscored Thakur's dedication to ensuring government schemes reached every household, noting the Modi government's alignment with Thakur's vision.
Manoj Tiwari praised Prime Minister Modi for recognising Thakur’s work and the good policies that help the country. He further said that the past governments did not give enough credit to Thakur.
