MoS PMO facing tough fight on ground zero

Tuesday, 09 April 2024 | Mohit Kandhari | Jammu

With less than 10 days to go for the campaigning to end for the first phase of polling on April 19, the political temperatures are rising in the Chenab Valley region of Jammu and Kashmir.

The two main rival candidates MoS PMO Dr Jitendra Singh of BJP and Congress candidate Choudhary Lal Singh are locked in a tight contest in the region.

The sitting Member of Parliament from Udhampur-Doda Lok Sabha seat Dr Jitendra Singh is facing the daunting task of returning home victoriously.

Choudhary Lal Singh of the Congress party is mounting a tough challenge on the ground with active support from the National Conference and Peoples Democratic Party.

To boost the poll campaign in the last leg, star campaigners of the Bharatiya Janta Party including Prime Minister Narendra Modi, UP Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, and Defence Minister Rajnath are scheduled to address public rallies in Udhampur, Kathua, and Basohli.
