Bokaro police arrested two individuals on Thursday, including a suspect involved in chain snatching. According to the police, the arrested individual, identified as Insaaf Ali alias Pitla (32), has been implicated in several incidents of chain snatching across Bokaro, Dhanbad, and various police stations in Bengal. During the arrest, the police also seized a homemade firearm from him.
Based on the statement provided by Pitla, the police also apprehended two accomplices, identified as Sonar and Sanjay Swarnakar, believed to be residents of Kasmar. The police recovered stolen chains and other items from their possession as well.
Notably SP Bokaro, Pujya Prakash, revealed that based on confidential information, the primary suspect in the Pindrajora police station loot incident, Insaaf Ali alias Pitla, has been apprehended. Police conducted a raid in Ghatiyali, Pindrajora, leading to his arrest. Recovered during the operation were a looted pulsar motorcycle, a homemade firearm, live ammunition, and mobile phones.
The suspect confessed to orchestrating numerous chain-snatching incidents across various police stations in Bokaro, Dhanbad district, and Bengal. He disclosed his involvement with an accomplice and revealed plans to sell the stolen chains to a goldsmith. Following the raid, another individual involved in buying and selling stolen chains was also arrested elsewhere, leading to the recovery of additional stolen items.
