In a historic rally of INDI Alliance at Prabhat Tara Ground in Ranchi the opposition targeted the ruling NDA government and appealed to people to oust Modi government from the Centre to save the Constitution of India. About two lakh people gathered from across the State in the ‘Nyay Ulgulan Rally hosted by the Jharkhand Mukti Morcha in Ranchi on Sunday.
Senior leaders of the Opposition including Congress president Mallikarjun Kharge, JMM chief Shibu Soren, former CM Hemant Soren’s wife Kalpana Soren, Jharkhand CM Champai Soren, Punjab CM Bhagwant Singh Mann, RJD leader Tejaswi Yadav, National Conference president Farooq Abdullah, AAP leader Sanjay Singh and Sunita Kejriwal, CPI ML leader Deepankar Bhattacharya and a hoast of other prominent leaders of the INDI Alliance were present on the occasion.
Former Jharkhand CM Hemant Soren’s wife Kalpana Soren Murmu read out the letter sent by Hemant Soren from jail on the occasion. Hemant Soren has sent a message from jail to the people of Jharkhand, she told the people.
“Friends, today I am not with you in Jharkhand Ulgulan rally. For the last four years, the opposition has been conspiring against me and has finally detained me in Birsa jail for about two and a half months on a baseless charge. Similarly, Aam Aadmi Party Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal has also been lodged in Delhi's Tihar Jail along with his associates. This is the first time since independence that the top leaders and Chief Ministers and ministers of any party have been elected and thrown into jail in a coordinated manner just before the elections, without any trace and accused. Well, no problem, even though I am in jail today, I am happy that we are fighting for the protection of democracy. Not only us but leaders of various states are taking it forward,” she read.
“Friends, today's Jharkhand Ulgulan Maharally will reveal many things in the name of Jharkhandi brothers. The meaning of Ulgulan is that the government of thugs will not run anymore. Will not allow democracy to be looted, will not allow the Constitution to be destroyed, will not allow the country to disintegrate. The 2024 Lok Sabha elections are going on. On one side, we are all the people of India Grand Alliance and on the other side, there are the group of capitalists and the people of the conspiratorial central government, NDA. Today the country is going through a difficult situation. BJP government is running at the center since last 2014 and twice the people of the country have given a chance to NDA to form the government. Even though the people of the country gave the support base of the government to the NDA, but the support base of the states across the country was not given to BJP,” she read.
“But as soon as the NDA government is formed in 2014, they want to take control of the states across the country. You must have heard through various information systems what kind of step-motherly treatment is being given in non-BJP states, governments are being toppled and in some places horse-trading of MPs and MLAs is going on. If people do not come with BJP then it is an example that today we have to send messages to you from jail through letters. For the past several years, the conspiratorial NDA government has cleverly shown dreams to the people of the country in 2014, thrown dust in their eyes and fooled people of every caste and religion. The youth, women and tribals of the country were cheated. Work is being done to suppress the voice of the opposition. The democracy of this country is in danger today. If we demand our rights, we are put in jail,” she quoted Hemant.
“Central agencies are being misused on a large scale in this election. Jharkhand is the poorest state in the country. The people here are poor but Jharkhand is not poor. The entire country runs on our natural resources. What do we get in return, migration, displacement, starvation, disease? If we demand our rights, we are put in jail. If we talk about the government's misdeeds, it will seem like night and day. Many experienced leaders of the country are present in front of you. Who will tell you many things in what way the central government has cheated the entire country. It is loot,” she quoted.
Addressing the rally Jharkhand CM Champai Soren said that from this ground we want a message to the country, Jharkhand and BJP. Soren said that we have to strengthen the India alliance. We have to make it so strong that it becomes difficult for NDA to get not only 400 but even 150 Lok Sabha seats. Champai further said that BJP put Hemant Soren in jail as part of a conspiracy. He said that their conspiracy was to topple an elected government. But, we did not allow their conspiracy to succeed. He said that similarly we will foil their slogans of more than 400 people.
Congress National President Mallikarjun Kharge said that Modi ji arrested two Chief Ministers. He said that Hemant Soren had no fault, but there was pressure on him that if you go to INDI Allinace, if you make friends with anyone, they will send you to jail. BJP people and Modi's disciples gave him this warning. But, Hemant Soren is courageous. He said that I will not leave the alliance. I would like to go to jail, but will not leave the alliance. Kharge said that if you try to scare the tribals, you yourself will be destroyed. You will not be able to eliminate the tribals. Kharge said that we want democracy in this country. You see, if the Constitution is gone, nothing is going to be saved.
RJD leader and former Bihar Deputy CM Tejashwi Yadav said that this Lok Sabha election is not an ordinary election. This is an election to save democracy. This is an election to save the Constitution. He said that today on one hand BJP is conspiring to change the Constitution and on the other hand it is giving slogans of more than 400. He said that this film named 400 Paar has become a super flop. The proof of this has been found in the first phase of voting. He said that we have tightened the air for BJP in Bihar.
Jailed Delhi CM’s wife Sunita Kejriwal said that Prime Minister Narendra Modi has put the Delhi Chief Minister and her husband Arvind Kejriwal in jail. Your favourite Chief Minister Hemant Soren was put in jail. What did they do wrong? You tell me what is their fault?
