On second day of first phase of filling nomination for the general elections on Friday, four candidates filled their nomination at Chhatarpur in Ganjam district.
While two candidates submitted nominations for the Lok Sabha seat, two others filed nomination for the State Assembly. Independent candidate V Chandrasekhar Naidu and SUCI’s Somnath Behera filed their nomination for the Brahmapur Lok Sabha seat before the Returning Officer Madhumita.
Former Brahmapur Mayor Siba Sankar Dash also filed his nomination as an Independent candidate for the Brahmapur Assembly seat. Dash reached the office of the Collector in a grand procession and filed his nomination before the Additional Collector and Returning Officer Debabrata Sahu.
On 3rd day of nomination on Saturday, BJP candidate for Brahmapur Assembly seat K Anil Kumar proceeded to Chattarpur in a car rally with party workers and filed his nomination.
