Parents protest arbitrary practices in private Bokaro's Schools

Friday, 26 April 2024 | PNS | BOKARO

Parents of students attending Ayyappa, MGM, and DPS schools have lodged complaints at the district magistrate's office regarding arbitrary practices. They allege that Ayyappa School initially provided a book list, based on which parents purchased relevant books. However, a few days prior, the school released a revised book list on its website, significantly different from the initial one. When questioned, the school administration failed to provide clarity, causing distress among all parents who had already invested in the books.

Meanwhile, parents of DPS students have raised concerns over a nearly 10,000 rupee difference in tuition fees between the last academic year and the current one, indicating arbitrary fee hikes. Various additional charges have been introduced, burdening parents unfairly. The demand for two months' fees at once, amounting to over 10,000 rupees, with daily fines ranging from 20 to 50 rupees for late payments, further exacerbates the situation.

Additionally, MGM School has been accused of demanding an extra 500 rupees in fees for additional books added to the fee structure.

Present at the application submission were Ajit Kumar Thakur, Kaushal Kishor, Deepak Kumar, and others, representing the concerned parents.
