Ranchi Police arrest drug peddler

Ranchi police have arrested a young man who was involved in buying and selling brown sugar. On Sunday, the police team under the leadership of Kotwali Dy SP, Prakash Soy took action and arrested Pradeep Kumar from Irgu Toli located in Sukhdevnagar police station area.

Police have recovered seven grams of brown sugar and many other items from him. It is noteworthy that under the leadership of Kotwali Dy SP, a continuous campaign is being run against the trade of brown sugar for the last several days. During this period, the police have arrested more than twenty drug peddlers and sent them to jail.

There is information that DGP Ajay Kumar Singh will hold a review meeting regarding the production and trade of narcotics. On April 23, the DGP will hold an online review meeting with the SSP and SP of the district. It is noteworthy that the trade of drugs (brown sugar, opium, ganja, doda or other intoxicants) is highest in 24 police stations of different districts of the state.

Sadar police station area of Chatra district is at the first position. Sukhdevnagar police station area of the capital is at 12th place, Lower Bazaar police station area is at 19th place and Namkum police station area is at 22nd place. From the analysis of the cases registered police station wise, it is clear that there are 24 police stations in the state in whose area the maximum number of cases were registered regarding recovery of brown sugar, opium, ganja, doda or other intoxicants. It is clear from this that most of the drug trade takes place in these police station areas. Chatra district is on top in this list. Here, during the said period, the maximum number of 506 that is 21 per cent cases has been registered under the NDPS Act.
