Temp to soar above 40 deg in State

The maximum temperature in the State is likely to soar over 40 degree Celsius in next couple of days, predicted the Regional Office of the India Meteorological Department (IMD) here on Saturday.

The maximum day temperature is expected to rise by 6 to 8 degrees Celsius across the State during the period, the IMD said. 

The IMD issued a Yellow Warning for hot and humid weather in the State from April 17.  Maximum temperature is expected to reach 43 degree in Balangir, Sambalpur, Titilagarh, Jharsuguda and Subarnapur during the period.

“Several parts of the State are likely to experience a rise in temperature by six to eight degrees Celsius in the next couple of days. Coastal districts of Odisha like Bhadrak, Baleswar, Jajpur, Kendrapada, Jagatsinghpur, Cuttack, Khordha, Nayagarh, Ganjam, Gajapati and Puri will witness severe hit and humid conditions from April 14,” the IMD said.

 Several parts of the State will experience more than 40 degree on April 15 to16,” added the weather office..

“Balangir, Sambalpur, Titilagarh, Jharsuguda, and Subarnapur are likely to witness maximum temperature of over 43 degrees from April 17. Considering the situation, Yellow Warning has been issued for hot and humid weather from April 17. Heat wave warning has also been issued in several parts on April 15 and 16,” the IMD said.
