Two Odia films — Daha Balunga and Hari Om Hari — have been released on the eve of the Rath Yatra. Daha Balunga has hit the theatres all over Odisha as well as in the thickly Odia-populated Surat in Gujarat.
Daha Balunga, which has lover boy Babushaan as its hero, features Bollywood actor Jackie Shroff for the first time in an Odia film. Shroff essays the role of the heroine Ankita Mukherjee’s father while Bijay Mohanty has plays Babushaan’s father as a lawyer. Other star casts include old veterans Tandra Ray, Uttam Mohanty and Aparajita. The film, directed by Sudhakar Basant, is a bilingual one, Odia and Bengali.
Hari Om Hari stars Akash DasNayak, Siddhant Mohapatra, Riya Dey and Megha Ghosh. The film is directed by Dilip Panda. Hari It has been showing in 25 theatres all over Odisha.
