Humour rules Hasya Kavi Sammelan

Saturday, 26 March 2016 | PNS | Ranchi

Renowned poets from across the nation with expertise in various forms of Hindi poetry came together on a stage to spread a laughter and fun on the eve of festival of colours, Holi.

On the occasion of Akhil Bharatiya Hasya Kavi Sammelan-2016 this Tuesday, six well-known poets of India — Pratap Faujdaar, Anamika Jain Ambar, Gaurav Chouhan, Sampat Saral, Sudeep Bhola and Satish Madhup — presented verses in forms varying from hasya ras (comedy) to veer ras (gallantry) and shringar ras (romance).

Keeping up with the peculiarly comic atmosphere, the poets and dignitaries were welcomed with garlands made out of vegetables.

While inaugurating the kavi sammelan, Urban Development Minister CP Singh expressed his joy on the event once again being held on the occasion of Holi. “Back in the day, we used to enjoy such programmes around Holi but the tradition was lost in due course of time. It is a matter of joy to listen to poetry once again before Holi,” Singh said.

With their poetry, the poets voiced their views on the prevalent social issues and current events with a comical twist. But Holi remained on the top of them all.

Satish Madhup opened the kavi sammelan poems with his familiar cynical verse style on various issues including women security and social fabric of Indian society. Anamika Jain presented her poetry on shringar ras with Holi as its theme.

Gaurav Chouhan from Uttar Pradesh presented poems in veer ras on the ongoing conflicts in the nation. Through his poems, he expressed his belief that India will once again emerge as a world leader.

Sudeep Bhola used his verses to voice his opinions on the recent uproar about JNU. Apart from that, he also presented poems on other significant incidents the nation witnessed recently.

Eminent dignitaries present at the kavi sammelan included IAS PK Jajoria, Deputy Mayor Sanjeev Vijaywargia, The Pioneer, Jharkhand Edition, MD, Pawan Bajaj and many others.
