The Simons Institute for the Theory of Computing is inviting applications for Simons-Berkeley Research Fellowship for Summer 2019, Fall 2019 and Spring 2020. The Institute expects to award about 30 Fellowships in 2019-2020 for International students.

Eligibility: Intended for exceptional young scientists (within at most six years of the award of their PhD at the start of academic year 2019-2020). Applicants who already hold junior faculty or post-doctoral positions are welcome to apply. Applicants who hold, or expect to hold, postdoctoral appointments at other institutions are encouraged to apply to spend the duration of one programme. Each fellow will normally participate in at least one of the ongoing programs at the Institute and be resident for the full programme. English language requirements: Applicants whose first language is not English are usually required to provide evidence of proficiency in English at the higher level required by the university.

Applications are invited for Getty Graduate Internships at the Getty Center in Los Angeles or the Getty Villa in Malibu.

Eligibility: Internships are open to students of all nationalities. Applicants must be: Students currently enrolled in a graduate program (Master of Arts (M.A.), Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.), graduate conservation certificate, or their equivalents for international applicants) in a field relevant to the internship(s) for which they are applying. Or, individuals who have completed a relevant graduate degree (Master of Arts (MA), Doctor of Philosophy (PhD), graduate conservation certificate, or their equivalents for international applicants) on or after January 1, 2016, with postgraduate activities in their field, paid or unpaid.

How to apply: You will need to prepare the following materials: personal statement, CV, academic record, letters to recommendations (2). F-1 visa holders are required to submit copy of their I-20 form and proof that they will have enough OPT or CPT time to finish the internship, if selected.

Application deadline: The last date is November 1, 2018,  5 pm Pacific Time.
