Rated: 5/10
The tentacle horror from outer space is back as predator in a reboot that’s ugly, off putting and all the same in a bad kind of way.
Characters within the movie call is a sports hunter, thanks to the way he hunts, targets and executes his victims, well with his bare lisping tentacles, empowered with some hi-tech killing gadgets that fox even the most seasoned of US Army snipers on ground.
It all starts with the crashing of a space ship in a dense jungle where a team of mariners is crouching in the shrubs to end a hostage crisis. All goes wrong as the predator, acting as our very own Mr India would in a demonic way, kills three of the four on duty as the hero of the film escapes with some of its gadgets and does his own disappearing act.
All this mumbo-jumbo of action and a little bit of forced comedy from the team which has assigned itself to kill the Predator, including micro biologist Olivia Munn, and save an under-grown child in the process. The problem arises when you keep recalling the original Predator and not find much difference between the two both in action and appearance. On the whole, a lightly engaging movie where both action and comedy are measured, much like your interest would be.
