BJP to raise issue of missing voters’ names with Election Commission

Monday, 19 November 2018 | PNS | Dehradun

Amidst reports of a large number of people being unable to cast their votes as their names were not found on the voters list, the Bharatiya Janata Party stated that it would raise this issue with the State Election Commission.

The BJP State media in charge Devendra Bhasin said that complaints had been received about the names of voters missing from the voters list in Dehradun and various other places.

Regarding this, the party workers also reached the party office on Sunday. Bhasin said that even those who were already named in the voters list at the party state office address were missing  in the voters list on Sunday.

The party will raise this issue with the election commission. He further said that on the issue of names missing from the voters list, the allegations being levelled by Congress on the BJP are baseless.

The allegations levelled by the Congress are a sign of that party’s impending defeat in the local body polls, he added.
