The town BJD held Janasampark Padayatra in Ward-20 here on Thursday in which hundreds of party workers, local residents, slum dwellers led by the senior BJD leaders went around Badakhemundi Street, New Bus Stand, Kalika Mandir street and slum areas.
The party leaders, during Padayatra, interacted with local peoples and highlighted the various pro-welfare schemes and developmental programmes initiated by the State Government and conveyed the public about negligence by the Central Government towards the State.
A public meeting at Kalika Mandir Street was also held presided over by BJD town president Bijaya Samal. Among others, local MLA Dr Ramesh Chandra Chyau Pattnaik, State Planning Board Member Rama Chandra Panda, Subash Maharana, Bikram Panda, BJD State secretary T Gopi, former district president Jagannath Sabat, Mahila Morcha leader Mamata Bisoyi joined the event.
