Le Méridien New Delhi kicked off the holiday season in style with the unveiling of its “Consciously Festive” Christmas Tree, a 23-foot installation crafted from 300 kilograms of responsibly sourced e-waste. The initiative, executed in partnership with certified recyclers, transforms discarded electronics into a striking symbol of sustainability, creativity, and conscious luxury.
This year’s tree continues the hotel’s tradition of blending festive artistry with environmental advocacy. By highlighting the challenge of e-waste management, the installation encourages mindful consumption, reuse, and innovative repurposing of materials that would otherwise end up in landfills.
The ceremonial lighting was led by Kimmo Lähdevirta, Ambassador of Finland to India, accompanied by the First Lady, who also joined in unveiling the hotel’s Advent Calendar. The tree and Advent Calendar reveal set the tone for a festive season focused on community, creativity, and conscious celebration.
Guests were invited to explore the hotel’s E-Waste Drop Box, aimed at promoting responsible disposal habits among visitors. Meena Bhatia, Vice President and General Manager of Le Méridien New Delhi, hosted the Advent Calendar Reveal, sharing daily surprises that include exclusive dining offers, festive lobby moments, and seasonal treats.
