The battle ground in Chhattisgarh is all set for second and final phase of polling on November 20.
In the second phase, a total of 1079 candidates are in the fray where 53,85983 electors would be exercising their franchise to elect 72 candidates.
Out of the State’s total number of electors, 77,46,628 are male while 76,38415 are female and 940 are third genders.
To ensure full voting in 72 constituencies, a total of 19,296 polling centres have been established. The maximum number of electors in second phase of polling are at Kasdol at 3,33,472 while Manendragarh Assembly constituency has least number of electors at 1,31,283.
A total of 493 candidates are in the fray as Independent candidates. Raipur (South) constituency has maximum of 46 candidates in the fray while the minimum number of candidates in the fray are at Bindranavagarh at six.
Out of the 72 Assembly constituencies, in 11 constituencies, the total number of candidates is more than 20. In the second phase, 119 women candidates are in the fray with maximum number of women candidates in Raipur (South) constituency where there are eight candidates.
In 18 assembly constituencies, there are no women candidates in the fray. The counting for first and second phase of polling would be held on December 11. As per information, around 650 battalions of para-military force have been deployed in 72 assembly constituencies for peaceful conduct of polling. The distribution of polling materials and polling team movement to respective polling booths will begin from November 19 early morning.
The first phase of polling was held on November 12 for 18 Assembly constituencies in insurgency-hit Bastar division and Rajnandgaon district.
