The Manohar Lal Khattar Government, which is set to complete four years in office in October, will hold a mega rally on October 28 in Karnal to sound the poll bugle for 2019 elections.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi will be invited for the state level rally to celebrate completion of four years of BJP led Haryana Government.

Gearing up for 2019 Lok Sabha and assembly polls in Haryana, the saffron party during its ‘manthan shivir’ at Thapli  in Morni Hills on Wednesday chalked out a detailed plan for massive mass-contact programmes in the next four months in the state.

Besides Chief Minister Manohar Lal and his cabinet colleagues, chairperson of Boards and Corporations, party office bearers were present at the meeting.

Unlike the State Government’s three-day chintan-shivir  (workshop on governance issues) for Ministers, MLAs and bureaucrats which was organized at an upscale, Timber Trail Heights in Himachal in December last year, Wednesday’s ‘manthan shivir’ was organized at Forest Department’s Nature camp Thapli.

During various sessions of the ‘manthan shivir’ presided over by the Chief Minister,  discussions were held to organize party campaigns for highlighting its achievement at central and state level.

The Chief Minister also directed the party office bearers to  widely disseminate government’s achievements  and organize booth level programmes with the participation of senior party leaders in the state.

Eyeing next year’s polls, the party also decided to hold a mega rally to sound poll bugle for 2019 besides celebrating four years of Haryana Government. It has been decided to invite Prime Minister Modi for the rally.

The first time MLA, Manohar Lal Khattar had taken oath as the first Chief Minister of the BJP Government in the state on October 26 in 2014.

“It has been decided to hold a mega rally in Karnal on October 28 for the completion of four years tenure of BJP Government in Haryana. Besides, massive mass-contact programmes will be organized at booth level in next four months to apprize the general public about the schemes launched and development works undertaken by the State Government,” said Rajiv Jain, media advisor to the Chief Minister on Wednesday.

Jain said that the party has also decided to hold BJP working committee meeting in Rohtak on September 13-14.

Besides a mega rally, the saffron party has planned programmes on birth anniversaries of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, former PM Late Atal Bihari Vajpayee and RSS ideologue Deendayal Upadhyaya.

The completion of four years tenure of BJP in Haryana would witness a whirlwind of activity including an ad blitzkrieg and big government events to highlight its achievements.

As per the plan chalked out by the BJP, programmes related to poetry of former PM Vajpayee would be held across the state on September 16, Seva Saptah, health camps, plantation drive, awareness campaign about Ayushman Bharat scheme would be held from September 17 (PM Modi birthday) to September 25 (Upadhyaya birth anniversary).

To woo women voters of the state, the party will organize district level women sammelan in October. Apart from this, Nambardar Sammelan and Vikas rally will be organized.

The party will also hold booth level events on December 25, birth anniversary of former PM Vajpayee, which is celebrated as good governance day.

Eyeing 2019 polls, the Haryana Government’s  focus will be highlighting its major initiatives including Beti Bachao Beti Padhao, Swachhta Abhiyan, promotion of e-governance, ease of doing business and various schemes of Central and State Government for the welfare of various sections.

Notably, the tenure of BJP led Haryana Government was replete with controversies and fiascos including the violent 2-16 Jat quota stir and mishandling of 2017 dera violence issue.
