Devotees in droves thronged the Dhabaleswar Shiva shrine for the Gaja Bhog of the Lord on Thursday morning.
On Wednesday midnight, Lord Dhabaleswar was decorated with Badasinghara Besha and offered the Gajabhoga. Cakes are offered to the Lord on the Bada Osa which are made from the rice powder, sugar, coconut and allied spices.
The devotees reached the shrine which is located on an island in the river Mahanadi near Mancheswar village of Athagarh in boats and through a suspension bridge connected from Mancheswar. The local administration had made all arrangements to ensure hassle free observation of the fair. As per reports, over one lakh devotees congregated at the temple on Wednesday and Thursday.
