BJP president Amit Shah on Thursday accused Congress chief Rahul Gandhi of suffering from Modi phobia, which forces him to chant Modi-Modi all the time.
Addressing a public meeting at Barwani, Shah said while the Bharatiya Janata Party under Prime Minister Narendra Modi at the Centre and Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan in the state progressed, the Congress had no development stories to tell, hence the Modi-chants.
“It’s not your fault Rahul Baba, one can visit from Kutch to Kamrup, PM Narendra Modi has taken over the hearts of commoners everywhere,” said Shah while addressing an election rally in Barwani.
He (Rahul Gandhi) chants Modi-Modi so much so at times it’s difficult to understand whether he is addressing a Congress rally or a BJP event, chuckled Shah.
Attacking previous Congress government at the Centre, Shah said Rahul Gandhi often asks what have been Modi government’s achievements in last four years, but never tells the public what the Congress which remained in power after independence did for the country. “Rahul Baba never shares information on corruption of the Congress governments.”
Accusing the Congress of not caring about development in all these years, the visiting leader asked whether the tribal villages received 24x7 power supply in their rule, whether every household had toilets, whether every kitchen had cooking gas connections or whether kids were given opportunities to study and progress in their careers.
Saying that on one side there is a Jannayak and Jansevak like Shivraj Singh Chouhan and on the other, there were Raja-Maharaja and industrialist, the BJP chief urged the public to make a choice who should be in the next government.
Addressing rallies in Shajapur and Badnagar the BJP president attacked Congress for its pro-farmer stance. “Congress rakes up farmers’ issues in highest possible pitch but let them reply what their governments did for peasants in last 70 years.”
