Realtor dupes buyers of Rs 30 cr, arrested

Delhi Police’s Economic Offence Wing (EOW) on Tuesday claimed to have arrested realtor Sanjeev Dhingra for allegedly duping buyers of Rs 30 crore.

According to a senior police official, Sanjeev Dhingra who owns Dhingra Jardine Infrastructure Company has duped various buyers in a group housing project ‘California Country’, which is at Sector-80 in Faridabad (Haryana), to the tune of approximately Rs 30 crore.

“The project was launched in 2006 with a promise to deliver flats and apartments of the society within 36 months but it has been more than 10 years and no flat was delivered to the buyers. Irked over the company delay in giving possession and constructing flats and apartments the buyers filled a complaint with EOW in Delhi,” said the senior police official. 

“Following the complaint First Information Report (FIR) was registered and the accused was arrested on November 1,” the senior police official added.
