ne of the juveniles involved in the stabbing of the 18-year-old boy at South district’s Madangir area on Tuesday, reportedly confessed to police that he bought the button knife used in the commission of crime online from Amazon, just eight days before the incident.

The 15-year-old juvenile studying in the same school where the slain boy studied, alleged that he constantly bullied him, even in front of his teachers, police said on Wednesday, adding that, they are questioning the teachers in charge on why no action was taken on the issue.

According to Deputy Commissioner of Police (South) Vijay Kumar said, "A police control room (PCR) call was received around 8 pm on Tuesday regarding a stabbing in front of a local park in Madangir. The 18-year-old identified as Bhanu Pratap, a student of Class-X, was taken to the hospital where he was declared brought dead on arrival."

Subsequently, the three juveniles all aged 15 were apprehended by police officials near SDMC nulla road in Madangir area.

During questioning, the juvenile studying in the same school as the deceased revealed that prior to the incident, 15 days ago, Bhanu had called a friend from his neighbourhood and together they beat him up inside the premises of the school, said a senior police official.

The juvenile also alleged that on Tuesday, at around 5 pm, Bhanu hit him and that enraged him and he called his cousin and his friend to take revenge.

He knew Bhanu's evening routine and targeted him. He told police that he had already bought the knife online beforehand and was hiding it in a tree outside his residence.

However, police found that it was his friend and not him who stabbed the deceased four times that proved fatal, police said.

"He had gone for tuition and within 10 minutes we got a call from his friends informing us that Bhanu has been stabbed several times by three of his school mates.

The three were waiting for him. They might have had a small quarrel over something for which they planned the murder," said the deceased's brother Pankaj said.
