Thursday, 15 November 2018 | Staff Reporter | NEW DELHI

Delhi Commissioner of Police (CP) Amulya Patnaik launched “NIPUN” the e-Learning portal of Delhi Police on Wednesday. Through this initiative, the Delhi Police shall be using advanced technology in imparting in-service training to its personnel.

“The portal aims at giving online training and information through specialised courses designed by experts in the field. With online resource like law, standing orders, investigation checklists, forms for case files, latest High Court and Supreme Court rulings being made available online, it is envisioned that the investigating officers (IOs) will be able to take the benefit of this information during the course of their duty,” said Suman Nalwa, Deputy Commissioner of Police (DCP), Training.

Patnaik applauded the efforts of ‘Training Unit’ in using technology to reach out to a large number of police personnel which is essential to update and keep up with the changes in law. Further, the infrastructure development to cater to training of a large batch of seven thousand constables in a very short span of time was appreciated.

The CP also launched website for 'Training Division' of Delhi Police which aimed at facilitating information sharing between the faculty and the trainees at the Police Training Institutes of Delhi Police. The website provides the training syllabus, study material, sample question papers, manuals, law and much more.

"With more such courses, we shall be able to take 'Yoga' to our police stations for the personnel at the grass root level which shall not only improve productivity but also keep them mentally and physically fit," said the CP.
