‘Rang-e-Shanti’ ends; Swarn Mrig performed

Marking the conclusion of three day theatre festival 'Rang-e-Shanti', ballet Swarn Mrig was perforned. The ballet was staged at Shaheed Bhavan here on Tuesday.

Written by Yogesh Tripathi, the ballet was perfomed by Shruti Kirti Perforning Arts. 

The story is about a golden deer. In one forest, there was a beautiful deer named Ruru, and all the animals in the forest loved him very much. Ruru Deer was very kind and was about to help everyone.

One day, a rich man named Mahadhanik was seen flowing with the water in the river. Swarn Mrig i.e. the golden deer saw him floating unconsious and so saved him.

After saving Mahadhanik  the golden deer took a promise from him that he will not tell it to anyone about him. Mahadhanik promised him.

On the other hand the queen dreamt of the golden deer. One day she asks the king for a promise. The King promises to the queen. Then the queen asks the golden deer from the king. King knew her stubbornness, therefore he tries to convince the queen that golden deer is only in books, not in reality.

The queen stays firm on this promise. Therefore to earn some money, Mahadhanik tells king about the golden deer. The king orders to cath the golden deer, but it was not foumd anywhere.

Then he ordered the ministers to cath all the deers of the forest and kill them one by one. One day it was the turn of a pregenent deer, but king did not listen to anyone. Hence to save her, the golden deer comes in front of everyone to sacrifice his life.  Smitten by this gesture, the queen stops killings a d takes the golden deer to the palace.

The play was beautifully performed as the  artists impressed the audience with their confident acting  skills.
