A 24-year-old eunuch committed suicide by hanging with the ceiling at Dhobi Ghat under Shymala Hills police station area on Thursday.

According to the police, the deceased Altaf alias Alfiya was found hanging in the bathroom by her brother Shahwar and was rushed to a nearby hospital where she was declared dead. Police were informed and on the receipt a police team reached the spot and started investigation.

After the preliminary investigation the body was sent for the post mortem and the police have registered a case under section 174 of the CrPC. The reason behind the suicide could not be found and would be investigated in the further investigation.

Police said that Alfiya was one of the members of a eunuch group and have quizzed the members of the group which revealed that verbal spate occurred with the deceased but due to such fight deceased could never take extreme step.

Meanwhile, a 30-year-old man committed suicide by hanging with the ceiling at Risaldar Colony under Gautam Nagar police station area on Friday. Police said that the deceased Manoj Kushwaha was found hanging and rushed to nearby hospital where he was declared dead.

The police have registered a case under section 174 of the CrPC and have started further investigation.

During the investigation police found that the deceased was heavily addicted to liquor and frustrated over his habit his wife moved to her parents’ house few days ago and on Thursday deceased came and later committed suicide.

After the preliminary investigation the body was sent for the post mortem and the police have registered a case under section 174 of the CrPC.
