The BJP Kisan Morcha would gherao the Navin Niwas on January 8 with 25,000 farmers from all 314 blocks. Over 3,000 farmers from Dhenkanal and Angul districts would join the stir, said Morcha'sLoksabha Pravari Er Debashisha Hota.
There are 68 lakh farmer families in Odisha. But, the State Government has declared to include only 30 lakh farmer families in KALIA yojana. Why rest 38 lakh farmer families have been excluded in KALIA, asked Hota.
This proves the double standards of CM Naveen Patnaik. KALIA is nothing but to befool the electorate before the 2019 elections, he said. He charged that the farmers were falsely assured on opening of Mandisfrom November 5. He also charged the Government on the various irregularities in the paddy procurement in Mandis, lack of adequate cold storage units and irrigation coverage in the State.
