Union Railway Minister Piyush Goyal flagged off the Bhubaneswar-Nayagarh Town Sewa Express along with other Sewa Trains in various States through a videoconferencing from New Delhi on Tuesday.
Goyal flagged off the trains in the presence of Union Health and Family Welfare Minister Dr Harsh Vardhan, Union Petroleum and Natural Gas Minister Dharmendra Pradhan and Union Minister of State for Railways Suresh Angadi.
Science and Technology, Public Enterprises and SSEPD Minister Ashok Chandra Panda, MPs Pinaki Misra and Aparajita Sarangi graced the launching ceremony at the Bhubaneswar railway station.
The Bhubaneswar-Nayagarh Town Sewa Express regular service will commence from October 16 as per its schedule. The 18423/18424 Bhubaneswar-Nayagarh Town-Bhubaneswar Sewa Express Train from Bhubaneswar will leave daily at 1840hrs and will reach Nayagarh Town at 2045hrs. In the return directions, this train will leave Nayagarh Town at 0630hrs and will arrive at Bhubaneswar at 0900hrs. Gracing the occasion, Panda, Mishra and Sarangi praised the Ministryh of Railways as a whole and the East Coast Railway (ECoR) in particular for connecting Nayagarh Town with Bhubaneswar and fulfilling the long demand of the public.
ECoR GM Vidya Bhushan praised both the Central and State Governments for their cooperation on different developmental and welfare issues.
