The BJP on Friday night announced its second list with names of candidates for five Lok Sabha and 22 Assembly seats in Odisha for the upcoming elections.
While party’s national spokesperson Sambit Patra has been chosen for Puri LS seat, State president Basant Kumar Panda would fight from Kalahandi seat. Other three candidates are Suresh Pujari for Bargarh, Nitesh Ganga Deb for Sambalpur and Jayaram Pangi for Koraput seat.
With Patro’s name figured in the list, all speculations over fielding of Prime Minister Narendra Modi from the Puri seat have come to an end.
The Assembly candidates are: Bhatli-Irasis Acharya, Deogarh- Subash Panigrahi, Biramaharajapur- Raghunath Jagadala, Sonepur-Ashok Pujari, Balingir- Ananta Das, Nuapada-Homesingh Majhi, Jharigam- Parshuram Majhi, Dabugaon- Padman Nayak, Bhawanipatna- Pradeep Nayak, Dasapalla- Purna Chandra Nayak, Kabisuryanagar- Ranjan Polai, Chhatrapur- Prashant Kar, Aska- Debraj Mohanty, Sorada- Nilamani Bisoi, Berhampur- Kanhu Pati, Digapahandi- Pinky Pradhan, Mohana-Prashant Mallik, Gunpur-Shisir Gomang, Rayagada-Basant Ulaka and Jeypore- Goutam Samantray.
With this, the BJP has so far announced candidates for a total of 119 Assembly seats and 15 Parliamentary constituencies.
