BJP to bank on Modi rallies, Digital Rath to win over Capital voters

Thursday, 28 March 2019 | Sapna Singh | NEW DELHI

Bracing up for the high voltage Lok Sabha elections, the Delhi BJP has sent locations to party high command where Prime Minister Narendra Modi will address the people in the national Capital.

According to Delhi BJP office-bearers, these locations are Nirnkari Maidan Burari, Dwarka ground, Shashtri Park, Japani Park in Rohini and Mehrauli where the rallies of the Prime Minister could be held.

Delhi BJP unit chief Manoj Tiwari said our choice is Nirnakari Maidan because it is well connected with other constituencies. The Delhi BJP is also organising ‘Digital Rath’ in which 140 videos will be played. When asked about the content in the videos Tiwari said, “The BJP cell has prepared videos of contenders who will contest the elections, the party high command will finalise the names by April 4, And once the names are out, we will play candidates’ videos on our digital raths to acquaint the public with the BJP candidates of the respective constituencies.”

Not just this, Tiwari, singer-turned-politician and sitting Member of Parliament (MP) from North East constituency will communicate directly people through Twitter. “I will answer to queries of people via Twitter and will be live on Thursday from 2 pm,” Tiwari said.

Neelkanth Bakshi, media co-in charge, said Twitter chaupal will be live from official Twitter handle of Manoj Tiwari and users can ask questions by using #TwitterChaupal. He also informed that people can also use #ManojTiwarikiChaupal to communicate with the politician on Twitter.

Bakshi said, “In the era of digital media, the use of social media is increasing day by day. This is the reason that today Governments are utilising social media platforms for maintaining transparency and communicating with the people.”

Meanwhile, reacting to the rejection of the nomination of Aam Aadmi Party (AAP)’s candidate from Gautam Budh Nagar seat Shweta Sharma, Tiwari said how the people will vote for a party which could not get the required number of proposers.

“This also shows that the people are angry with Kejriwal Government and the AAP. They are completely disillusioned with this Party. The greatest reason is that AAP has disregarded the interest of the people of Delhi and is begging for alliance with its opponent Congress party.”

“In the past, Kejriwal had claimed that the Congress party is the most corrupt and he had 370 pages of proof against them but now he is begging for alliance with that party and Sheila Dikshit,” Tiwari said, adding, “Difficult situation has arisen for AAP in Delhi, as its candidate Shweta Sharma failed to get 10 proposers for her nomination papers, the same will happen with this party in Delhi, he quipped.”
