Chief Electoral Officer (CEO) VL Kantha Rao conducted a detailed review of the preparations for Lok Sabha Elections-2019 and Assembly by-elections-2019 in Chhindwara. He issued instructions to ensure that all election preparations are completed 72 hours before begening of voting. The necessary preparations for law and order should also be completed.
No liquor shop should be opened anywhere 48 hours before voting till the end of voting, weekly markets should not open on the day of voting instead the market should be arranged for the next day.
Kantha Rao conducted detailed review of micro planning, preparations for EVM, Force Deployment, EVM randomization, Commissioning, C-Vigil, Voter Support Center and CCTV, Videography and Webcasting, appointment of polling agents, action under
Property Defacement Act, additional preparations and arrangements of vulnerable areas for Chhindwara Lok Sabha and Vidhan Sabha by-election.
Among those present on the occasion were Joint Chief Electoral Officer of State Rajesh Kaul, Divisional Commissioner and Inspector General of Police Jabalpur division, Collector and District Returning Officer Srinivas Sharma, Superintendent of Police Manoj Kumar Rai and other officials.
Besides, Chief Electoral Officer Rao held a discussion about election related activities with the observers appointed by the Election Commission of India for Chhindwara. Rao with SVEEP icon encouraged the voters to vote independently and fearlessly on selfie point made at the local Collector’s office premises for voter awareness.
