Congress manifesto anti national, says Ex-servicemen group

Thursday, 04 April 2019 | PNS | Dehradun

Terming the election manifesto of Congress party as anti national, the members of the Personnel below Officer Rank (PBOR), the association of the ex-servicemen burned a copy of manifesto here on Wednesday.

The president of the association, PTR Shamsher Singh Bisht ( Rtd) said that it is unfortunate that the Congress in its manifesto has said that it would reduce the presence of Army and central armed police forces in the Kashmir valley and the hand over more powers to the Jammu and Kashmir police.  Similarly Congress is advocating to reassesses the special act which provides special powers to the armed forces in Jammu and Kashmir which is not acceptable to the ex servicemen, he said. The Association also expressed its resentment to the Congress manifesto in which it has promised to make changes in the Armed Forces Special Power Act. Bisht said that the ex servicemen associations cannot keep their eyes closed on the national security. He claimed that the Congress manifesto if implemented would result in weakening our security.

Those present on the occasion included Captain S S Bisht (rtd) , Captain V S Karki ( rtd) and many former armed forces personnel.
