The Delhi police on Friday arrested an Odia youth belonging to in Raghunathpur under the Soro police limits in Baleswar district for allegedly stealing diamond and silver jewellery worth Rs 10 lakh.
The accused was identified as Karunakar Das, son of Purnachandra Das. He had been employed as a domestic help for some years in the house of a businessman named Ravindra Kumar Khari in New Delhi’s Adarsh Nagar
locality.
He allegedly stole diamond and silver ornaments from his employer’s house on June 4 and went missing. Suspecting his disapperance, Khari registered an FIR against him at the Adarsh Nagar police station.
A three-member team of the Delhi police arrested Karunakar with the help of their Soro counterparts. The accused confessed to his crime and said he sold the ornaments in Cuttack.
