The Chief Minister of Uttarakhand, Trivendra Singh Rawat, has said that all the pending inter-State issues between Uttar Pradesh and Uttarakhand should be disposed of soon. On Saturday, the chief secretary of UP Anup Chandra Pandey made a courtesy call to the CM at his residence.
In the meeting, the CM Rawat said that in last two years, the efforts of both the Governments have yielded positive results and agreement has reached on a large number of issues and many of them have been disposed of. He said that now only some issues are remaining unresolved. Rawat exuded confidence that the pending issues between the two States would soon be resolved. He, however, added that a issue which is left pending for long becomes complex and so, it is prudent to dispose them of.
The CS of UP said that the CM of UP, Yogi Aditya Nath, too, has emphasised on resolution of all the pending cases between the two States in a phased manner. He said that positive interaction between the officers of the two has occurred on all the issues.
The chief secretary of Uttarakhand Utpal Kumar Singh and others were present on the occasion.
After the creation of new State of Uttarakhand out of UP in the year 2000, the issue of distribution of assets is still pending.
