Govt inks MoU for Dhalbhumgarh Airport

CM Raghubar Das on Thursday performed ground breaking ceremony of domestic airport at Dhalbhumgarh in Ghatshila sub-division. On the occasion, the State Government also signed a MoU with the Airport Authority of India.

Das said that today 30 airplanes are flying daily from Bhagwan Birsa Munda airport for other states of the country. In the last year 2018 about 25 lakh 50,000 passengers traveled by airplane.

This is the achievement of 4 years i.e. the purchasing power of the people of Jharkhand is increasing.  Air service will start from Dhalbhumgarh Airport in one and a half years.

The Chief Minister said that before December 28, 2014, 1500 people used to fly in Jharkhand every day and only 8 airplanes used to go daily and now  in one year only 150,000 passengers travelled by airplane.

He said that during the Prime Minister's rule in the last four years, on an average, 60,000 passenger passengers are traveling every day and due to this, lot of work is being done in the area under Dumka, Palamu, Hazaribagh, Daltonganj, Bokaro. Very soon these areas will get connectivity through the flight. The Chief Minister said that for the second phase 55 acres of land is required.

The Chief Minister said : “I will request the people of the surrounding area that whatever land they will give 55 acres of land under 2013 land acquisition act, they will give fur times the value of the market price. Along with this, we will also provide land so that they can build their own house and also make business and farming.

Minister of State for Civil Aviation, Jayant Sinha said that today is the historic day for the East Singhbhum and Dhalbhumgarh region.

The Union Minister said that this is a concrete step forward in fulfilling the decades-old demand of this region. In a year and a half, the aircraft will fly and fly to Kolkata, Patna, and Ranchi. He said that it was possible with full cooperation of the Chief Minister and tireless efforts of the MP of the area.

The Union Minister said that this is the first state in the country where we will sign MOU for developing the world class the state-of-the-art airport. This will act as a role model for other states.

Sinha said that there is a revolution in connectivity. Along with the National Highway, Telecom Sector, there has been a revolution of connectivity in the aviation sector too.
