Govt to support girls from birth to marriage: CM

Chief Minister Raghubar Das today said that the government is committed to support girl child from her birth to marriage and the Chief Minister Sukanya Yojna is implemented in the State to encourage education among girls and discourage child marriage. Speaking at the Sukanya Yojna Awareness Campaign organized in Latehar on Monday the CM said that public participation in this work is necessary so that the children of every house can be covered with this scheme.

The CM said the Prime Minister had given the message of ‘Beti Bachao, Beti Padhao’ from Panipat. The State Government is working on ‘Pehle Padhai, Fir Vidaai’ for the same. The government is determined to support orphans (girls) from birth till marriage. The CM said that in today’s time the tribal society is away from female feticide, while educated people living in the city are killing the girl by performing pre-natal ultrasonography. Doctors, who do this, should not do this type of sin. Otherwise, the Government will take legal action against them, said the CM.

Das said that women are the axis of development. As many as 27 lakh gas cylinders and stoves were distributed in 4 years for the welfare of women. In the third phase, the distribution work 15 lakh gas cylinders and stove swill start from February 23, under which 3,000 cylinders and stoves will be provided to the women of our State. To make women independent, the formation of the Poultry Federation in 13 scheduled areas will be done within 1 month, he said.

The CM said that Jharkhand is developing in every area including electricity, drinking water and health. Under the biggest health insurance scheme of the world Ayushman Bharat, 16 lakh golden cards have been distributed in the state so far. Within three months, the Golden Card will reach 57 lakh families.

The CM was all praise for the Latehar police and the CRPF here saying the two forces have done good job in containing curbing and minimizing the extremism here for which their joint and co ordinate efforts should be appreciated most. From extremism he then went on to the populist issue of the farmers when CM Das said, “Our PM is all out for farmers and here our government has launched Mukhiya Mantri Kissan Ashirvad Yojna. Das said this shows our government’s concern for the farmers.”

The CM said the government is doing all to reach piped drinking water in the houses of the 1,200 villages here which will save our women and girls to go to any water body any far to fetch water for drinking purposes. Das said villages will be supported with infrastructural facilities. Connectivity is going up he reiterated.

On Golden Cards CM spoke good length telling the gathering that now no poor woman will have to sell off her ornament to meet the cost of medical treatment. He praised PM for giving the country the world’s largest and biggest health cover.

The Chief Minister said that some foreign powers want to ruin tribal culture. “We need to fight such powers. We have to keep the culture of Nilambar Pitambar untouched. The Government respects all religions, but the Government will not tolerate conversion in lure of money or anything,” he added.

MLAs of Latehar and Manika, Divisional Commissioner, Deputy Development Commissioner, SP and hundreds of villagers were present on the occasion.
