Ahwan holds blood donation camp
Paradip: On the occasion of New Year, Paradip youth organisation Ahwan in association with the Red Cross central zone organised a blood donation camp here. A total of 112 units of blood were collected. Municipality Chairman BK Biswal, Councillor SP Rout, industrialist Dr KC Maharana, OSPCB Regional Officer M Mahalingam, PPT official PK Maharana, BB Mishra, youth leader RK Pattnaik attended as guests and motivated youths to donate blood. Later food was distributed among poor people of the town. Sanjay Kumar Pradhan, Prabhash Chandra Swain, Pradipta Mohapatra and Niharika Sahoo and other members coordinated the camp.
Abhiram Dev devotees’ meet held in Paradip
Paradip: A meting of Thakur Abhiram Paramhansa Dev devotees was held in Balarampur village of Kujang block on the New Year day. Sadananda Das Maharaj and other Sadhus from Santi Ananda Ashram of Karamala in Puri attended the programme. On the occasion, Mangala Arati, Pravat Kirtan, Yagna and different pujas were held. Followers of Abhiram from Kendrapada and Jagatsinghpur districts joined the function.
Mohan Das death anniv observed
Nimapara: The Yuva Vikash Parishad observed the 24th death anniversary of communist leader and Nimapara-Kakatpur constituency first MLA Mohan Das here on Tuesday. Former teacher Sarat Senapati, pharmacist Trinath Patro, Krushna Chandra Patra, Niranjan Sahu, Brahmananda Sahu, Gauranga Sahoo, Pratap Mohanty, Pratap Nayak, Bikash Barik, Swadhin Behera, Dillip Barik, Saumyaranjan Swain and Das’s grandson and Parishad head Adarsh Dash paid floral tributes. Later in the evening, a programme was organised in which local MLA Samir Ranjan Dash, Communist leader Avaya Sahu, former BEO Anil Biswal, Pradipta Khatoi, Santosh Dash and Sanatan Patra were present.
Vasudevan gets MCL Dir (Personnel) charge
Sambalpur: Mahanadi Coalfields Limited (MCL) Director (Finance) KR Vasudevan on Tuesday assumed additional charge of the Director (Personnel) from LN Mishra, who superannuated from service on December 31, 2018. A law graduate and member of the Institute of Cost Accountants of India (ICAI), Vasudevan after assuming the additional charge convened a meeting and emphasised on increasing inter-departmental synergy and cooperation to achieve the target coal production and despatch.
