JIASOWA fair gives fillip to J’khand tourism

In a bid to boost tourism in State, the Jharkhand Tourism Development Corporation (JTDC) is spreading awareness among visitors at Jharkhand IAS Officers Wives Association’s (JIASOWA) Diwali Mela about the beautiful tourist spots in the tribal hinterland.The JTDC is using new Augmented Reality and Virtual Reality technologies for spreading awareness and giving the real-feel of Jharkhand’s tourist spots to the visitors at the fair. Jharkhand Tourism Stall also displays the traditional culture of Jharkhand like ‘Mural Painiting’, Chhau Dance and the bamboo Interior Decoration.

Besides, the stall is also using MX Media. Its AR can be experienced in mobile App named ‘JTDC AR’, downloadable from Google playstore. Visitors can get augmented experience of Hundru falls, Betla National Park (Tiger and Elephant) and video integration of different types of posters within the stall. Through VR people can experience the different tourist places within Jharkhand at Morabadi tourism stall itself. The experience of Deoghar Baba Mandir , Masan Zor Dam (Dumka), Sharad Mahotsav (Netarhat), Sunrise of Netarhat , Patratu Valley Dam and Ruka Dam .

All the technology here is powered by Jharkhand Government’s registered startup company named  Experiencedzone Private Limited. This company is working mostly in the field of AR and VR technologies.

The   JIASOWA Mela will continue till October 21 at Morhabadi Ground. There are more than 300 stalls of entrepreneurs from all over the State. The fair was inaugurated by Chief Minister Raghubar Das on October 17. This time the objective of the fair is to promote women entrepreneurship and rural artisans.

Talking to The Pioneer, JIASWOA Media In-charge, Richa Sanchita said all members are making an effort to make the event a huge success. “JIASOWA constantly strives to provide a platform to the women entrepreneurs of Jharkhand.

This year main focus has been on promoting the products of women self help groups of the State and they have been invited to put up their stall,” she added. The other major attractions of the fair include the food stalls serving mouth watering delicacies. Visitors are also getting a chance to enjoy the different cuisines of Jharkhand including Santhal Pargana and Chotanagpur region.Entertainment programmes like various competitions, folk dance and adventure games for children have also been organised. Facilities like free Wi- Fi, free health check- up camps, free drinking water facility, mobile ATM’s are being also provided for the visitors. On the purchase of two entry tickets, visitors can get a free cloth carry bag. Sanchita said that the Diwali Utsav is also giving a message of a plastic free environment. “This year JIASOWA is trying to give the message of a healthy environment and for this usage of single use plastic has been banned at the fair premises. An awareness camp is also being organised at the fair venue and a plastic recycling stall has also been put up.”

Sanchita informed that the different women SHG groups have put up several stalls with products of domestic use in the fair. “The women SHG groups have put up stalls of wafers, pickles, pulses and many other edible items. The slippers and sandals made by the groups are also being provided to the visitors on reasonable rates,” she added.

The JIASOWA Media In charge said that Santhal Pargana’s traditional dance form ‘Dong’ is also attracting the visitors. “Women seem to be more attracted towards household items at the fair. Women are also shopping for bamboo-based products. A variety of designs and quality clothing collections are available for women at the fair. Clothing vendors from different states of the country have set up their stalls at the fair,” said Sanchita. Khadi dresses, silk and Chanderi silk sarees, Gujarati-Banarasi sarees, Rampur saris and suits, terracotta and jute products, various bamboo products for home use, leather bags for women, fancy chappals, Jaipuri lac bangles, Fancy Glass Bangles, Makeup Accessories, Artificial Jewelery, Bhadohi's Carpet, Winter Dresses, Half Designer Bundi for Men, Blazer, Leather Range of belts, fancy dresses etc. are available in large quantities. People arriving at the JIASOWA fair were also seen shopping for different types of home furnishing products. There are many attractive items made of bamboo among the home furnishings. Hi-tech nursery stalls have been set up by the Department of Agriculture, Animal Husbandry and Cooperation, in which people are getting various types of plants. Free health check-up camp is also being provided. The visitors are also getting the benefit of free health check-up at the fair. People are getting blood pressure, sugar level check etc for free. There is a stall at Golden Card is also being made under Ayushman Bharat scheme run by Government.

It is mandatory for the family to present with the Aadhaar card to make a golden card.
