Krishnakant Pratap: Emerging football talent in Jharkhand

For young footballer Krishnakant Pratap Singh his body, heart and soul rest in football, a game which he pursues and propagates. Nothing bucks up the spirit of Krishnakant like a game of hearty football.

The 19-year- old this young player, who hails from Ranchi has already made into Jamshedpur Football Club’s Reserve Team and is looking forward to fulfill his dream and be part of the main team squad and prove his talent in Indian Super League (ISL).

Krishnakant plays as a right back for Jamshedpur team. Such is his control over the game that his dazzling play flummoxes his opponents and he has the capacity to break the most formidable defensive line-ups. “My life revolves around football. I have been passionate about the game since I was a small kid. From playing on the streets of my city to making into Jamshedpur FC Reserve team, life has been a rollercoaster ride,” he said.

Krishnakant has achieved the skill of an outstanding footballer in addition to the academic excellence during his schooling at Delhi Public School, Bangalore South.

 He represented his school in All India CBSC Cluster, southern Zone and Jain International Football tournament during his school as captain during the year 2014-15, 2015-16 & 2016-17.  He was also the playing member of Ozone Football Academy Pvt Ltd, which is an I-League playing team from Bangalore.

His favourite position in team is right back.  However, as per team requirement and according to coach direction, he has played from forward right in position and scored goal for the team and Jharkhand.

Speed and ability to dribble the ball with wizardry was the hallmark of Karan’s game, which earned him accolades and fans from across the country.

On being asked about Jamshedpur being part of ISL, he said that the league is providing a great opportunity to the local talent to prove themselves. He said that he loves the city and the fans. “For me, the mentality of the team is very good and that’s why we got there.

The luck of Jamshedpur FC has been not in favour but still it has performed amazingly in the second season of its ISL,” he said.

Krishnakant has represented Karnataka in Jr. National Football Championship (BC Roy Trophy) during April-May 2017 and Karnataka stood as runner up in the tournament.  He has represented Jharkhand in the Santosh Trophy 2019 and had scored solitary goal from Jharkhand against the team of Odisha in Santosh

Trophy Tournament held at Bhilai (Chhattisgarh) on February 4.  He is now a rising football star.
