Sources said at about 5.30 am on Wednesday, four persons, including one woman, had entered Prasad's house identifying themselves as the GST officials and had shown a search warrant. They claimed that they had allegation that on the address, crores of rupees transactions are made without payment of tax.

Although Prasad and his family members pleaded their innocence, the officials were in no mood to listen and went ahead with their search operation. Prasad then had no other option than to cooperate for the raid. After almost of two hours long search operation of their house, Prasad reportedly had felt uncomfortable and had suddenly fallen down.

The family members were panicked and wanted to rush him to hospital, after which two officials helped him to rush to the Ispat General Hospital in their vehicle, where as two other officials continued their raid, in presence of Prasad's wife.

“The doctors at the IGH stated that the condition of my father was serious as according to them my father already had a brain stroke due to high blood pressure," said Surendra Prasad, son of Sibnath Prasad.

"As an impact of the stroke, he also had a paralytic attack on his right side," Surendra said. As per the advice of the doctors, the family members had shifted Prasad to a Bhubaneswar based hospital.

According to sources, the GST officials on the other hand had wound up their raid, stating them that they had got some wrong address as they found nothing related to the allegation. The family members of Prasad are now in shock, as they are not only facing mental agony but also have to spend huge amount of money on account of treatment of Prasad.
