An elderly man was allegedly murdered over suspicion of practising sorcery at Sendhakapa village under the Sadar police limits in Keonjhar district late on Saturday night.
While the deceased was identified as Dinabandhu Munda, the accused persons numbering seven surrendered before police after killing Munda.
Munda was sleeping in his house when the seven persons entered into the house by breaking its door and attacked him, killing him on the spot.
Police started investigation into the incident after recovering Munda’s body and sending it for postmortem.
