Supratibha Khuntia of Puri has won the trophy of ‘Odisha Shree’ in a State-level bodybuilding championship held at Balangir on January 13. Khuntia represented on behalf of the Puri District Amateur Bodybuilding Association, who topped the competition. As many as 190 competitors from different clubs of the State participated in the championship organized in the Koshal stadium of Balangir.
Belonging to the servitor’s community of Puri temple, Khunita is a product of the Bayam Bhaban near the beach who was practicing bodybuilding regularly since his early age. Scores of athletes, including health lovers, greeted Khunita in Puri after his return with the prestigious medal.
On behalf of the Puri association, its president Satyanarayan Mohanty, vice-president Mahabir Pratihari, secretary Narayan Chandra Behera, State working director and joint secretary of association Bharatikrushan Brahma, besides Anil Gochikar, the bronze winner in ‘Biswashree’ championship, applauded Khunita for bringing laurels to the district.
