Retired Chief Secretary Sunil Kujur (IAS) took charge as State Cooperative Election Commissioner, Chhattisgarh on Monday. The Cooperative Department issued the order of his appointment in the afternoon. Earlier, the state government had made all efforts for his extension as Chief Secretary but the Government of India had rejected the extension proposal. Thus, Sunil Kujur retired on October 31, 2019 as chief secretary. It was expected that he would be accommodated by the state government in a key post after retirement.
