Teacher, MBA graduate held in toll plaza incident

The Gurugram police on Thursday arrested a physics teacher and an MBA degree holder in connection with Kherki Daula toll plaza incident that took place on Wednesday night. In which a man in a car pulled out a gun which reportedly said to be a lighter gun and threatened the toll collector, pushed the boom barrier and drove off without paying. The police have recovered a car and a lighter gun which they had purchased from a toy shop located in Delhi from their possession.

Those arrested have been identified as Kashish Lamba (23) of Pathankot at present residing in a rented accommodation at Sector-17 and Mohit (27) of Karnal currently residing at Sector-87. Kashish is an MBA professional and was under training at a private firm while Mohit is a physics teacher associated with a private school located at Farrukhnagar. According to the police a complaint was submitted to the district police by the toll plaza collector Amit Singh, the incident took place close to 9.30 pm in lane number 19.

“A white car, travelling from Manesar towards Gurugram was stopped at the toll plaza. The driver refused to pay the toll. There were two people in the car. They got out One man had a weapon. He threatened me and told to open the boom barrier,” Singh stated in the complainant.

“Out of fear, I started lifting the barrier. But the man pulled out a gun and removed the boom barrier and drove off without paying. The entire incident was captured in the CCTV cameras installed on the toll plaza,” he states.

“Following technical surveillance and human intelligence we nabbed both the accused from the different locations. The gun used in the crime was a lighter gun. At the time of the incident, Mohit was moving towards Gurugram to drop his friend Kashish. Mohit had threatened the toll attendant with the fake gun. They wanted to pass the toll plaza without pay,” said Kuldeep Singh, Station House Officer (SHO) of Kherki Daula police station.

“A case of Arms Act has been registered against the culprits at the Kherki Daula toll plaza police station. They were produced before a local court on Thursday which sent them judicial custody. Further probe into the matter is on,” Boken said.
