The district police have arrested two criminals from Giridih district who are part of a bigger cyber fraud gang. Addressing a press conference here today, Garhwa SDPO Om Prakash Tiwari said, “Police on Tuesday received a tip off about the criminals and a police team raided the houses of cyber criminals in Giridih district and arrested two criminals.”
The arrested persons have been identified as Satyaprakash Prasad a resident of village Pipra and Sunil Rana of village Ahilyapur under Bhadua police station of Giridih district.
One Sumit Tiwari had filed a complaint in Garhwa police station of duping of Rs 48,000 by cyber criminals.
Tiwari mentioned in the complaint that he had received a call saying that he had won a lottery.
The man also said that in order to receive the money he has to deposit Rs 48,000 in the cyber fraud’s account.
Over the message he deposited the amount in their account. When he realized that he was a victim of Cyber Fraud, he filed an FIR in the connection.
Following the complaint Garhwa SP Shivani Tiwari formed a special team headed by SDPO, Garhwa.
On a tip off team conducted raids late last night and arrested the two criminals. The arrested persons have confessed their involvement in the crime, he added.
