Youth hacked to death in Ganjam

A youth was hacked to death at Pratapur under the Purusottampur police station in Ganjam district on Sunday evening.

The deceased was identified as M Shibshankar Dora.

The accused killer Jitu Reddy, however, surrendered before the police after committing the crime. Sources said that Reddy killed Dora with a sword to settle scores with him over past enmity.

Police said that while Dora was standing near his village, Reddy assaulted him multiple times, following which Dora died on the spot.

Police sent Dora’s body for postmortem and began interrogating the accused to ascertain the exact motive behind his crime.
