If your electricity bill is not reaching your home or there is a mistake in the bill, then don't worry, you will have to send the old bill to Whatsapp number 9193304552 of the Electricity Department and the problem will be resolved.

If there is not too much mistake in the bill then the new bill will be generated in an hour and will be reached on your WhatsApp, otherwise, it will be available on the second day, Aligarh is the first district in the state to start this facility.

During the corona period, the major problem was that the bill not reaching the consumers. Meter readers also did not stop visiting the homes to take the readings during the lockdown.

Now the biggest problem after lockdown is the difficulty of not getting the bill. Consumers also complained that the bill is not coming to the home. Urban Superintendent Engineer, S.K Jain has done a new experiment. He launched a WhatsApp number, two employees will be available for these WhatsApp complaints from 9 am to 10 pm. The bills that come in the night will be corrected and sent the next day.

S.K Jain said that the consumers will have to send an old bill on WhatsApp whose house bill is not reaching which will go to the concerned SDO and they will correct it and send back it to the consumer WhatsApp number in an hour. If there is a big problem in the bill then it will send to the consumer on the second day. If the bill is too old, then the consumer will make a one minute video of the meter reading in the mobile and send it, the problem will be resolved soon. In the city, around 2.4 lakh consumers will get relief from this facility. The electricity department will also be able to know in which area the meter readers are not working properly.

He further added that this facility is being started for the first time, so consumer’s cooperation is required. He requested not to send unnecessary messages on WhatsApp because it will create chaos.
