Tamil Nadu is limping back to normalcy as the number of Covid-19 patients is coming down gradually in all districts barring Chennai and Coimbatore. On Thursday the State diagnosed 5,560 positive cases while 59 persons succumbed to the pandemic. The death toll in the State reached 8,618 on Thursday.
There were 46,610 patients all over the State by Thursday evening. Chennai district had 992 new cases while Coimbatore had 530 patients. The three cluster districts Chengalpet ( 283), Kancheepuram (187) and Thiruvallur (239) showed considerable decrease in the number of new persons identified with Covid-19.
Out of the 39 districts in the State, only 19 had more than 100 or more patients each indicating that Tamil Nadu is slowly coming back to its normal self.
