Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik through videoconferencing on Friday inaugurated a plasma bank at the Ispat General Hospital (IGH) in Rourkela for treatment of critical Covid-19 patients.
This is the third plasma bank in the State after the SCB Medical College Hospital, Cuttack, and the Capital Hospital, Bhubaneswar.
“After successful trials in Cuttack and Bhubaneswar, today we are inaugurating the third plasma therapy facility in the State. IGH, Rourkela has a task of great responsibility as public expectations are high,” the CM said.
In the coming days, such facilities would come up at the MKCG Medical College Hospital, Brahmapur, and VIMSAR, Burla, said Patnaik.
Simanchal Gouda, a recovered Covid-19 patient, donated his plasma at the IGH on the occasion of the inauguration.
