C'garh to observe ‘Jheeram Shradhanjali Diwas’ today

Chhattisgarh will every year observe May 25 as ‘Jheeram Shradhanjali Diwas’ in memory of all those killed in Naxalite violence.

All government and semi-government offices will observe a two-minute silence that day and pay tributes to those who died. They will take a pledge to make the state again an island of peace.

Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel has given instruction to observe the day.

The directive states that on May 25, 2013, in Jheeram Valley, senior leaders in the state and security personnel were martyred by Maoists.

Similarly, many persons have been killed in Naxalite incidents in recent years.

In memory of all those having who lost their lives, every year May 25 will be observed as ‘Jheeram Shradhanjali Diwas’.
